South Rim Loop - the classic backpack in the Canyon - 4 Days

New Mule Assisted South Rim Loop - 1 day shorter - mules carry our gear in and out of the canyon so we can focus on hiking.  Details below.

grand_canyon_dinnerThe South Rim Loop: MANY PEOPLE TAKE THIS TRIP FOR THEIR 1ST GRAND CANYON BACKPACK.
This is the hike that most people start off with for a Grand Canyon Backpack. Desert oases and spectacular vistas await your arrival on the south rim. Geologic history and cultural history will be encountered on this well-maintained hike; this trail was used by copper miners in the late nineteenth century and was also used by horse thieves to move their loot across the canyon. This classic hike includes a visit to the Bright Angel Cantina at the bottom for beers and snacks. As with all Grand Canyon hiking, expect on-trail hiking over steep terrain.

SPECIAL:  MULE ASSISTED SOUTH RIM LOOP.  3 DAYS WITH DAYPACKS.  Fantastic for people with limited time and or interest in backpacking, and for a broad range of ages and abilities, our Mule-Assisted Grand Canyon Classic Tour is an opportunity to experience the fullness of the Canyon with the maximum amount of comfort. You get to fully soak in the beauty as you hike with just a small, top-of-the-line daypack we provide, while mules carry your gear down and back up. Just a few of the tour highlights include starting at the popular South Rim, hiking classic trails with quintessential views, visiting historic Phantom Ranch, camping at breathtaking Bright Angel Campground, spending time at the Colorado River, and hiking to ancient Indian Gardens. You can just relax and enjoy yourself, as we provide all the gear, gourmet meals, and a professional guide. This hike is an all-around taste of the Grand Canyon in a relatively short amount of time - don’t miss it!

Rim To Rim: SUPER FIT BEGINNERS UP TO MOST FIT ATHLETEhiking_grand_canyon
Some say this is the most classic hike in the canyon - it is certainly one many people dream about completing! The best overall views of the canyon because it allows one to truly see the diversity of the North Rim versus the South Rim. We begin the hike in the cool wooded area of the North Rim via the North Kaibab trail. From here, we follow Bright Angel Creek to our first camp at Cottonwood Campground. Next, we follow Bright Angel Creek, with a detour to check out the famous Ribbon Falls. This creek leads us to Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel Campground, our second campsite. This is a good camp to take a layover day and enjoy the surrounding canyons and wildlife. The next day, we continue our journey across the Colorado River to Indian Garden Campground. Our last night will be spent here and we will hike out to Plateau Point to take in a spectacular sunset. The last day we will hike out on the Bright Angel Trail to the top of the South Rim.

Hermit Loop: THE TRIP GETS YOU OFF OF 1 OF THE MAIN CORRIDOR TRAILS FOR A LITTLE MORE QUIET IN THE CANYON
This deservedly popular, point-to-point hike off the South Rim descends the historic Hermit Trail and then heads across the Tonto Plateau and up the Bright Angel. It allows fantastic views, historic ruins, a canyon narrows section, and time at both Hermit and Granite Rapids, two of the larger and more photographed rapids on the Colorado River. This is probably the most scenic route we lead, and offers tremendous natural and cultural diversity.

The Wonders of the Canyon (North Rim): IT’S BEAUTIFUL AND THE MOST REMOTE OF ANY OF OUR GROUP TOURS.
This trip is truly a journey into the wonder and magic of the Grand Canyon. It s probably the most memorable and rewarding loop hike in the Canyon, and features excellent streamside camps, thundering waterfalls, an enormous landslide that changed the course of the Colorado River, an enchanting slickrock narrows section, and a layover day to relax and absorb the magic of the place. The route beautifully illustrates some of the most distinctive and scenic characteristics of the western Grand Canyon, and continues to be one of our all-time favorites.
